Section 01
GST tax invoices
Every booking with Prefer Logistics receives a GST-compliant tax invoice issued by Prefer Logistics Private Limited, Chandigarh. Each invoice shows:
- Invoice number, date and your Prefer Logistics tracking ID (plus the carrier AWB once assigned)
- Your name, billing address and — for business customers — your GSTIN
- An itemised breakdown of freight, fuel surcharge, packaging and other charges
- The applicable HSN/SAC code, with GST shown separately
📥View, print or download all your invoices anytime from the
Customer Portal.
🏛️
Section 02
How GST is applied
Our logistics services attract GST at 18%. How it appears on your invoice depends on where you are registered:
| Customer location | Tax on invoice |
| Within Chandigarh (UT) | CGST 9% + UTGST/SGST 9% |
| Other states | IGST 18% — e.g. Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh |
💡Claiming input tax credit? Share your GSTIN and registered business name
before the invoice is issued — for example in the notes when you
book a service. Invoices issued without a GSTIN need a credit note and re-issue.

Section 03
How your charges are calculated
Chargeable weight
Carriers bill on the greater of the actual (dead) weight and the volumetric weight of each package:
Volumetric weight (kg) = Length × Width × Height (cm) ÷ 5000Our packing team right-sizes boxes to keep this as low as safely possible. Final weights are verified at our Sector 22A hub.
What the total can include
- Base freight for the destination zone, carrier and service level
- Fuel surcharge set by the carrier and revised periodically
- Packaging & handling — boxes, bubble wrap, palletisation, documentation
- Doorstep pickup, where applicable
- Transit insurance, if you choose to cover the declared value
- GST as described above
⚠️Website calculator quotes are estimates. Remote-area surcharges, address corrections and destination customs duties are billed at actuals when levied.

Section 04
Customs duties & destination taxes
Import duties and taxes charged by the destination country are not included in our freight. Unless you arrange a duties-paid (DDP) service in advance, the receiver pays them to the carrier on delivery.
⚠️If the receiver refuses to pay duties, the carrier may hold or return the shipment — and those charges become payable by the shipper.
