Terms of Carriage

Prefer Logistics Private Limited ("Prefer Logistics", "we") is a logistics service provider and authorised booking & forwarding agent in Chandigarh. We accept, inspect, pack and document your consignment, then hand it to a partner carrier such as DHL, FedEx, UPS, Aramex or Blue Dart.

From handover, your shipment travels under that carrier's own conditions of carriage, which form part of this agreement. Where they conflict with these terms on carriage, liability or claims, the carrier's terms apply.

• Requests made online, by phone or on WhatsApp are confirmed only after our desk verifies details, weight and rate.
• We may decline any consignment that is unsafe, unlawful, poorly packed or missing documents.
• Each confirmed shipment gets a Prefer Logistics tracking ID, plus a carrier AWB once handed over.

As the shipper, you are responsible for:

• An accurate, complete description of contents, quantity and true value
• Correct sender and receiver names, addresses and phone numbers
• KYC (Aadhaar or Passport) for personal shipments; commercial invoice, packing list, IEC and GSTIN for commercial exports
• Ensuring the goods may legally leave India and enter the destination country
• Paying all charges, including duties, taxes and return charges where applicable

Goods must be packed to withstand normal handling in transit — we offer professional export packaging at extra cost. Charges are based on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, as explained in Billing & GST Invoicing.

• Transit times quoted online or by our team are estimates, not guarantees.
• Delays can result from customs checks, missing documents, weather, flight capacity, holidays, strikes or other events beyond our control.
• We help with documentation, but clearance decisions rest with customs. Duties, storage and return charges at origin or destination are payable by the shipper or receiver.

• Liability for loss or damage to an uninsured consignment is limited to the partner carrier's limits and applicable law.
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — such as lost profit or business — or for delays.
• We are not liable for damage caused by inadequate shipper packaging, inherent defects, or actions of customs and government authorities.

• Inspect the shipment on delivery and note any visible damage on the carrier's delivery record.
• Report loss or damage to us in writing as soon as possible — carriers apply strict claim deadlines.
• Keep the original packaging and contents, and provide photos, the invoice and proof of value.
• We file and follow up the claim with the carrier for you; settlement depends on the carrier's assessment.

If a shipment can't be delivered — wrong address, refused by the receiver, or unpaid duties — the carrier may hold, return or, after its holding period, dispose of it. Return freight, storage or disposal charges are payable by the shipper.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Chandigarh. We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page on your booking date applies.
